Nikki wanted a site that was bold, colorful, full of life and personality. As a professional copywriter, her writing isn’t boring, so why should her blog design be? After Nikki provided us her inspired stock image, we set to work to create the funky look she was going for. She really loves detail and wanted to take advantage of our moxie style by playing up different elements from the stock image, which we accomplished quite nicely with strategically placed fishbones (and other assorted goodies)! Who doesn’t love fishbones?
TheAnomalousLife.com was originally with the hosted service, Wordpress.com, but part of her project required us to migrate her entries to her own installation of Wordpress on a new server. We love that Wordpress makes that so easy and sticking with a platform Nikki is familiar with will help ease the transition to a slightly more involved design and structure.
Nikki also requested a separate “mini blog” for her random musings, what she called “Daily Anomalies”. This is featured in the pink talk bubble callout in the sidebar on most pages of the site. We kept it streamlined and simple for the client to use by creating a category for these types of entries and then filtering them accordingly. No muss, no fuss!
If you’ve not had an opportunity to read Nikki’s blog, The Anomalous Life, stop by and say hi!
I have to give a big shout-out to Joelle at Moxie Design Studios for not only the fabulous design but for perfectly understanding (and capturing) the essence of what The Anomalous Life means to me…fun, stylish, REAL, alive…not depressing, forlorn or lonely. I may be a thirty-something single woman, but I am living and learning and having a DAMN good time doing it. Thanks, Joelle, you nailed it, rock star!
