David Doucette came to us looking for a somewhat “Palm Springs chic” look for his professional architecture firm.  While the design still needed to reflect a professional aspect, David didn’t want anything too stuffy.  Expressing his love of orange and gray, we set out to create a logo concept that provided the simple, clean, modern look of David’s design aesthetic, while still conveying the warmth of a residential lifestyle. One magic attempt delivered this abstract icon of nested squares and we were well on our way to fine tuning his new brand.

The site design flowed naturally after that. David likes angled corners and the square logo icon helped set the tone for the site’s look. We wanted to feature David’s incredible work in the forefront, so we created impact with large images and soft transitions.  The gallery follows suit, with a clean, organized sidebar and the ability to showcase not only his work, but his before and after shots and concept drawings.  We also included a blog, as well as an area for his seminars and services.

David was a dream client — he trusted my point of view and expertise, but confidently shared his ideas and expressed them in a way that did nothing but stimulate the creative process. I very much enjoyed working with him and am excited for his new venture into business blogging.  If hiring him for an architectural project is anything like working with him on this web project, I can’t imagine a more pleasant experience.
