Luckie Daniels was so enthused with her first theme on And Speaking of Pink, she came back again for another new look to coincide with the launch of the A Stroke of Pink community on Valentine’s Day.  Since the first design was so new, we decided to keep the same layout, but incorporate a new “Alicia Rose” (the ‘mascot’ or ‘face of’ ASOP) illustrated by the talented Cynthia Frenette.  Luckie wanted to keep the skyline and wished to use a palette I created called “Gertrude Lawrence”.  Cynthia, who designed the launch theme (or “collection”, as Luckie calls each new redesign) used the same palette for A Stroke of Pink.  Rather than do the obvious – make the entire site pink – Luckie’s vision is that pink is a state of mind, so we went with it more as an accent. In this design, we added a few new features, such as the Twitter sidebar widget and a Feedburner sign-up form, along with a customized widget structure to allow the client to alternate widget backgrounds with ease.
