There is, but it’s minimal. Every company has costs of doing business and most companies roll those costs (usually inflated) into their prices so the buyer is never aware of them. So, even if you pay by check, you’d still be paying for the cost of the company’s credit card processing.
We could roll it into business costs, but that would increase the project estimates. Rather than pick a hearty flat rate, we feel it’s more fair to let those fees be based on the project itself. It’s not fair for you to pay a higher rate processing rate if your project is smaller or someone with a gigantic project to pay less when they might have a significantly higher estimate… and vice versa. In any case, it’s a cost of doing business that would manifest itself in your invoice one way or another — we’re just up front about it. You always have the option of paying by check for free.
