In order to best serve you, we’ve rounded up the most common questions and comments that come through our inbox and done our best to answer them as thoroughly as we can right here. If you still have a question that we haven’t answered here, please feel free to drop us a line. We’ll do our best to respond as quickly as possible.
We’re flattered you like our characters, thanks! We commissioned the ever-talented Derek Yaniger to create our Moxie Girls for us. He’s often super busy with gallery shows and the like, so he’s recently informed us that he’s no longer able to accept requests for websites or blogs needing spot illustration. He’s the cat’s pajamas, but there are many talented illustrators around. We have a handy list on the sidebar that can get you started. We’ve included links to some of the most popular illustrators we’ve worked with, including those who offer stock imagery.
Custom illustration is specific to your project and your personal style, so while we’re happy to interface with your illustrator and facilitate introductions, etc., we prefer you work specifically with them on the creation and revision of your custom artwork. We’re happy to lend our opinion and professional expertise (and we prefer to, as your illustration dimensions can effect your site layout), but we feel it’s more effective and efficient if you cut out the middleman and relay your desires to the artist directly.
Choosing custom illustration can vary in cost from artist to artist, depending on their demand, experience, skillset and how quickly you need the work done. Consider your budget and decide if a custom illustration fits into that. Understand that it’s a separate cost from your web project. If a custom illustration is more of a want than a need, you might consider working with existing stock imagery, which we can manipulate to an extent to suit your needs. The majority of the sites in our portfolio are derived from modified stock imagery and/or art created in-house.
