Here’s how it works: we usually book a season in advance (roughly 3 months, a quarter, what-have-you… except for Fall where we only book October/November and keep December free for family and administrative stuff). A month before the new season begins, we’ll begin to review the inquiries we reviewed over the past season. (i.e., September 2nd, we started reviewing the inquiries we received over the Summer to book projects for October and November).
Winter - January through March
Spring - April through June
Summer - July through September
Fall - October / November
(No projects in December)
We review requests for proposal 4 times a year — the first week of the following month: September, December, March and June. So plan ahead!
So, let’s say you’ve always been your run-of-the-mill “Kwickie Kuts” sort of person. $10 haircuts. Walk-in service. Mediocre results. But, ready for a change, you decide to treat yourself. You book an appointment with a fabulous, affordable stylist just a few short weeks in advance and then…poof! You have The Amazing Technicolor Dream Cut! You’re hot! Thanks to this haircut, you’re a walking, talking torrent of hotness! Now, you get more action than you’ve had in months! Something tells us “Kwickie Kuts” is history and for that stylist? You’d wait a month or more.
While we’d love to take your project right this very minute, well… we’re busy, truth be told. But don’t worry, busy designers are a good sign! We can usually work together to come up with a mutually agreeable timeline. In the meantime, pretend it’s the line outside Studio 54. Just, you know, without Bianca Jagger and the half-naked guys in gold spandex.
Because then you wouldn’t be getting us, darlin’.
We like being a small design firm. We’re control freaks like that. We’re not looking to take over the world (only like, a third. OK, half.), we just want to produce fun, creative design for wonderful people who aren’t looking for the same stinky ol’ templates. If you’re looking for an assembly line of crap on command, you’ve come to the wrong place.
This isn’t to say we won’t be hiring some assistants or contracting with developers at some point in the future.
