We do have phone numbers listed on our contact page, but due to the nature of our business and the focus required to do our jobs, we prefer to set up phone meetings by appointment only. You are welcome to call during business hours, but you will most likely receive our voicemail unless it indicates on our contact page that we are available for open calls. Please leave a message with your name, phone number, email address and a brief overview on your project and we will do our best to return your call by the next business day.
Please remember that we do work from home, so if you call at 11pm on a Saturday night, you’ll not only get our voicemail, but potentially cranky designers, as well. Unless it is truly an emergency (in which case, leave a detailed voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as possible), we would appreciate your respect of our weekends and personal time. Drop us an email and we’ll look into your issue on the next business day.
If you were expecting magic or fairy dust, we don’t blame you, but we’re sorry to disappoint.
We’re old friends with the Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop and Illustrator, our two main tools.
For development of HTML and CSS, once in a while, one of us will bust out an old basic text editor like Homesite, but most of the time we write our markup with plain ol’ Notepad. Neither of us uses Dreamweaver, Frontpage or anything like that. In fact, we avoid them at all costs. It just bloats the code like bad PMS. We like to keep it simple.
To manage the content on our websites, we use a variety of blog platforms, content management and services, but our favorites are Wordpress and Expression Engine.
For hosting, we like HostMonster and Hosting Matters, but there are others listed in the FAQ sidebar that you might prefer.
That’s about it!
Sorry, Abe. We do keep copies of our projects and they are eventually burned onto disk and archived. Occasionally, due to hard drive failure or other technical difficulties, there may be designs we just don’t have the back-up files for. It is ultimately the clients responsibility to maintain copies of your files. Per your project agreement, a back-up of art and original templates will be provided via .zip file or via USPS on CD once final payment has been received.
