Greetings and salutations! It’s been a while since we’ve updated. I wanted to do a post featuring some of the amazing sites we’ve launched over the last 6 months, but it’s… a little hectic right now. Due to unforeseen… well, everything it seems this Summer, some of my projects got a little (cough) bottlenecked and I’m spinning plates — salad plates, dinner plates, those little ones that come with your teacups… the whole 6-piece place-setting is in full spin. Look at her go, ladies and gentlemen!
I’m doing my best to reply to everyone as quickly as possible and accommodate everyone’s requests, but I need to re-prioritize in order to meet everyone’s needs — including my own. Nobody wants a crazy web designer (well, maybe some of you do)! I will be very focused on my projects at hand until the 2nd week of August, when we return from the BlogHer Conference. Requests for an estimate and new work inquiries are always welcomed, but please note that my queue can fill up very quickly, so if you are interested in working with me, specifically, this Fall, please submit your Request for Proposal ASAP. I’m reviewing proposals for Fall as we speak and taking limited projects for the remainder of 2010. If I could clone myself for you, I totally would.
I have some incredible, patient, totally awesome to the max clients who deserve my full attention and I’m hell-bent on delivering their websites in all their glory before we head to NYC on August 4th.
Kathy is also attending the BlogHer Conference with me August 4-8th. She is booked right now, as she’s a full-time super mom, as well as a super designer, but she may have openings for the Fall. If you want to work with her, specifically, please get your requests in as her availability is quite limited as well.
We so appreciate our clients… the new ones, the current ones, the clients of days gone by. We couldn’t work our magic without you, so thank you for your requests!
And thanks for your patience while we play a little catch-up.
If you’re going to be at BlogHer 2010 in NYC, please say hi! We’ll be the blonde and the brunette in the Hilton bar…
Greetings and salutations, chickadees! The birds are singing, the weather is bright, the flowers are popping up all over Southern California and there’s a cat audibly looking for love outside my building. *deep breath* Ah, Spring!
In other news, I have a new writing gig! The fine (and clearly, very wise) folks over at BlogHer have asked me to be a contributor to their feature group, “How to Blog (Better)” — specifically, articles about blog design. Fortunately, I know stuff about that. It would have been awkward if she’d asked me to write about pickling or something. Though, I’ve always wanted to learn to pickle. Those hot n’ spicy carrots at Mexican restaurants? Totally pickled! Who knew? But I digress.
I posted my first piece this week: Playing Dress-up: The Non-Designers Guide to a Blog Design, which breaks down the basic anatomy of a blog design theme, talks about the parts and what they do. In the next few weeks I’ll (hopefully!) be writing, I’d like to cover some very commonly asked questions, like how to change your banner or make changes to your blog design using the style sheet. We’ll also talk about how to hire a professional designer for your site (that’s us!) and other sundry topics about blog design.
If there’s a particular topic you’d like to see covered, do tell! Give me a shout, either in the comments here, via our contact form or on Twitter.
And on the homefront, you know those old minecars that you see in adventure films? The runaway ones that go up and down and then somewhere ahead, you just know there’s a big gap in the track? That’s totally our schedule right now. It’s an all-out wild ride! But we’re enjoying it — we like adventure.
My schedule is currently booked until August. There many wonderful projects on my plate right now, including a desert B&B, a dating advice site, a scrapbooking site, a couple yarn boutiques, a photobooth rental company, an 80’s ice cream parlor, a brand new spa, a community for scorned daughters-in-law and a partridge in a pear treeeeeee. *tap dance*
Kathy’s got various projects simmering, but may have some availability earlier than August, so feel free to drop her a line! Please bear in mind that she’s a full-time mom of two adorable niblets under the age of four, so your patience is appreciated.
We are currently accepting Requests for Proposal for Late Summer / Fall 2010. If you are interested in working with us, please take a couple minutes to fill out our Request for Proposal form and we’ll get back with you as quickly as possible.
We hope everyone has thawed out and is enjoying some beautiful Spring weather.
Happy blogging!
March came in like a lion and is going out… ‘bout the same. Lamb schmamb—it’s busy!
We have lots of fabulous projects in the works right now—but no time to chat about them, unfortunately. We’ll fill you in on all the details soon, but in the meantime, we’re booked, baby!
We are engaged with wonderful clients through July, but are accepting requests for proposals for projects for Fall 2010 (starting in August, through November). If you’re interested in working together, we’d love to hear from you, so please drop us a note and/or fill out our request for proposal form and we’ll contact you as soon as we can.
There’s a rumor that our contact and request forms were busted for the last few days. We can’t imagine that could ever happen. Seriously? Please! Psssh! But… uh, you know, it could’ve. If you tried to contact us via one of those forms and it got ugly, please try again. It won’t bite, we promise.
Don’t forget! We’ll be at BlogHer 2010 in New York City, August 4 through 7. We hope we’ll see you there! We’ll be the blonde and the brunette looking for the hotel lounge.
Happy Spring!
It kind of crept up on us, but it’s that time of year again! Kathy and I have been working diligently to finish up projects before we take our holiday break starting tomorrow, December 23rd through Friday, January 1st. We’ll be back in the office on Monday, January 4th, ready to rock n’ roll in 2010.
We’ve been incredibly busy this year—not only with amazing clients, but Kathy gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last July, which has kept her pretty busy away from the office as well. We worked with a lot of great clients this year and have more lined up for 2010. We are booked through March, but we are accepting requests for Spring. We’ve got quite a few on our list for meetings in January for Spring projects already, so if you’re interested, we recommend submitting your request for proposal at your earliest convenience. One of us will contact you as soon as we can in January to schedule a phone meeting to discuss your project in more detail so we can prepare your estimate. But please do fill out the request as thoroughly as you can.
What else is on the docket for the Moxie Girls in 2010? A brand new site for one! After seven years together, we’ve had several incarnations of this site and next to the flight attendant Moxie Girls, this may be our favorite yet. We’re very excited to expand our boutique business in 2010 to offer more services to provide our clients with an even more multifaceted Moxie experience.
If you’re looking for a last-minute gift for the new blogger in your life, we heard there’s a book you can buy….
Pick up The IT Girl’s Guide to Blogging with Moxie by… well, us, of course! You can snag it at your local Borders, Barnes & Noble or on Amazon. You can still get it in time for Christmas!
Kathy and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very safe and fabulous holiday season. We’ll catch you on the flipside! Look out 2010! ![]()
Hello all! Just popping in to let anyone working with Joelle currently know that they will have to take a seat while we taxi the gate. Poor Joelle has come down with some kind of nasty flu (we don’t want to say H1N1 because she has no clue if that’s it) but she’s riding the couch under Dr. Kathy’s orders until further notice. She values your business and she hates being behind, but in this case her health is just not up to even sitting in an upright position. So if you would be so kind as to exercise your patience and bear with her while she rests and gets well. She will undoubtedly be up and about in no time and will tend to your project or email as soon as she possibly can.
If you have an emergency you can contact me through the contact form and I will do what I can to help out. Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding! Send virtual chicken soup and wellness ju ju to Joelle…
