Look! Clients Full of Awesome!

Greetings!  It’s about time we updated around here and let everyone in on what’s going on in Moxieville.

You may have noticed we’ve not updated the portfolio in a while. Not because we’ve not done anything new – on the contrary, we’ve been super busy! – just too busy focusing on our clients to dedicate time to our own website.  That is all going to change by our 8th anniversary, though, so keep following and by Valentine’s Day, you should see a whole new Moxie Design Studios—complete with a fresh, totally awesome portfolio, some new features and if everything goes according to plan, new services.

We have, however, done some lovely work in the past several months, which we’d like to highlight for you right now!

There are more, actually… but I didn’t want to bore you. And these are just some I’ve done — we’ve not even scratched the surface of Kathy’s list yet.  So even though our portfolio hasn’t been formally updated, as you can see… we’ve been busy betties!

We’re really looking forward to displaying our clients more robustly on our new site and featuring them even more prominently. We just need to find a moment to schedule ourselves as our own client, which I’m sure is something to which you can probably relate.

Want to work with us in 2011? We highly recommend filling out our Request for Proposal ASAP, as our schedules do fill up and we’re already booking for January. Drop us a line—no project goes unnoticed, so we welcome your inquiries. We want to hear about your great ideas and help make them happen for you.

More Moxie is on the horizon, so stay up to date with us by subscribing to our RSS feed, following us on Twitter or adding us on Facebook. See you around!

Sign! That! Book!

Hola! We just found out that we’ll be doing a wee book signing of our überpink book, The IT Girl’s Guide to Blogging with Moxie, at BlogHer ‘10 in New York!

Please stop by the BlogHer Bookstore on the 2nd Floor of the Hilton New York on Saturday, August 7 from 4:15pm-5pm and we’ll sign it for you. We’ll sign anything, really. Starbucks cups, boobs, babies… why should rockstars get all the fun?

See you there!

BlogHer ‘10 is Coming!

Just a reminder that we’ll be out of the office next week, August 4th - August 9th (Wednesday - Monday), while we’re attending the BlogHer Conference in NYC.  We will be available via email for emergencies, but otherwise will reply to your emails on our return.

We’re really looking forward to going and attending the various panels. It’s important to stay abreast of new trends, network (though I hate that word in this context) and communicate with our peers and business demographic, as well as blow off a little steam. Hopefully, we’ll return with some new tricks up our sleeves!

Kathy and I both will be attending various panels and mixers, but probably always together. We’re attached like that.  And we’re excited to meet you, so so if you see these two broads, say hello!

A New Gig and a Schedule Update!

Greetings and salutations, chickadees!  The birds are singing, the weather is bright, the flowers are popping up all over Southern California and there’s a cat audibly looking for love outside my building.  *deep breath*  Ah, Spring!

In other news, I have a new writing gig!  The fine (and clearly, very wise) folks over at BlogHer have asked me to be a contributor to their feature group, “How to Blog (Better)” — specifically, articles about blog design.  Fortunately, I know stuff about that. It would have been awkward if she’d asked me to write about pickling or something. Though, I’ve always wanted to learn to pickle. Those hot n’ spicy carrots at Mexican restaurants? Totally pickled! Who knew? But I digress.

I posted my first piece this week: Playing Dress-up: The Non-Designers Guide to a Blog Design, which breaks down the basic anatomy of a blog design theme, talks about the parts and what they do.  In the next few weeks I’ll (hopefully!) be writing, I’d like to cover some very commonly asked questions, like how to change your banner or make changes to your blog design using the style sheet. We’ll also talk about how to hire a professional designer for your site (that’s us!) and other sundry topics about blog design.

If there’s a particular topic you’d like to see covered, do tell!  Give me a shout, either in the comments here, via our contact form or on Twitter.

And on the homefront, you know those old minecars that you see in adventure films? The runaway ones that go up and down and then somewhere ahead, you just know there’s a big gap in the track?  That’s totally our schedule right now. It’s an all-out wild ride! But we’re enjoying it — we like adventure.

My schedule is currently booked until August. There many wonderful projects on my plate right now, including a desert B&B, a dating advice site, a scrapbooking site, a couple yarn boutiques, a photobooth rental company, an 80’s ice cream parlor, a brand new spa, a community for scorned daughters-in-law and a partridge in a pear treeeeeee. *tap dance*

Kathy’s got various projects simmering, but may have some availability earlier than August, so feel free to drop her a line!  Please bear in mind that she’s a full-time mom of two adorable niblets under the age of four, so your patience is appreciated.

We are currently accepting Requests for Proposal for Late Summer / Fall 2010.  If you are interested in working with us, please take a couple minutes to fill out our Request for Proposal form and we’ll get back with you as quickly as possible.

We hope everyone has thawed out and is enjoying some beautiful Spring weather. :)  Happy blogging!

Sending Up a Big Pink Flare

March came in like a lion and is going out… ‘bout the same. Lamb schmamb—it’s busy!

We have lots of fabulous projects in the works right now—but no time to chat about them, unfortunately.  We’ll fill you in on all the details soon, but in the meantime, we’re booked, baby!

We are engaged with wonderful clients through July, but are accepting requests for proposals for projects for Fall 2010 (starting in August, through November).  If you’re interested in working together, we’d love to hear from you, so please drop us a note and/or fill out our request for proposal form and we’ll contact you as soon as we can.

There’s a rumor that our contact and request forms were busted for the last few days. We can’t imagine that could ever happen. Seriously? Please! Psssh! But… uh, you know, it could’ve.  If you tried to contact us via one of those forms and it got ugly, please try again. It won’t bite, we promise.

Don’t forget! We’ll be at BlogHer 2010 in New York City, August 4 through 7. We hope we’ll see you there!  We’ll be the blonde and the brunette looking for the hotel lounge.

Happy Spring!
