Fall is here and while I’m running a bit late on it this year, I am participating in AIDS Walk San Diego for the 4th year in a row. Since I’m late, I don’t anticipate that I’ll rake in the money of years past, but I’d be really honored to offer them whatever I can raise.
AIDS Walk San Diego is on Sunday, September 30, 2007. I’ve registered to walk and if you’d like to sponsor me, I’d welcome your donation. ![]()
Any donation, no matter how small, is appreciated.
Thank you!
We hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day. Technically, we are closed today for the holiday, but both of us are working diligently to catch up on client projects before the short week ahead. This seemed like the perfect time to let everyone know that we will be closed
starting September 20th, with a grand re-opening on October 1st.
It’s time for us to do some much-needed maintenance to our site and our business; we’ve been postponing it now for over a year due to the volume of work we’ve had, but with the launch of our first book, The IT Girl’s Guide to Blogging with Moxie, in early October imminent, we can postpone no longer. You are free to email us during that time, but unless it is an
emergency(i.e., Brad Pitt wants us to design a website, you blew up the internet and/or are bleeding from the head), we won’t be able to respond until we re-open, beginning October 1st.
Kathy and I are
very excited about our new direction and are excited to focus some of our creative energies on our own business. This is the first time since 2003 that we’ve been completely closed for longer than a few days, so we appreciate your patience and understanding. It feels like all crickets and tumbleweeds around here lately, but that’s mostly because we’re busy, busy girls behind the scenes. We keep saying we need to hire an assistant, but we can’t seem to find the time! Funny how that works…BUT! We have
recently acquired the talents and moxie of both a publicist and an agent, so that’s exciting news! Hopefully, this will allow us to move forward, to keep coming up with great new ideas we can finally put into effect. We’re so excited!
There is
so much Moxie happening this Fall. Not only is our book, The IT Girl’s Guide to Blogging with Moxie (Wiley, 2007), coming out, but we’ll be launching a long overdue redesign of this site, as well as a brand newsite for to help indulge your Moxie fix. We also are bringing back the much-loved Put Down the Donut, for those Donut fans out there. Pack in the Krispy Kreme while you can, kids. The Moxie Girls™ are kicking it into high gear!
Justin may have brought SexyBack, but The Moxie Girls™ are bringing MoxieBack. *snap* We hope you’ll stick with us to see what unfolds. ![]()
Around July 21st, due to some repositioning of our company, we changed our email domain from “@lovemoxie” to “@themoxiegirls” and set all of our email accounts to forward to the new domain. Unfortunately, in the last week or so, some mysterious force like a stealth server rollback or perhaps gnomes, deleted all
of our forwards. So, here we are… wondering why, when we’re usually swimming in it, it was virtual email silence all of a sudden. *crickets*
You got it! We’ve not being receiving the majority of our email… from anywhere. Not from the contact form, not from the direct emails address, pretty much none of it.
So, some of you might be thinking we ran off to Bermuda, but lo, we are still here!
Pleasetry your email again. We apologize if we left you hangin’ and for any inconvenience this may have caused. We’re looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Thank you. ![]()
We have worked with hundreds of women bloggers over the years and as women bloggers ourselves, it seemed only natural to try to make it to this years BlogHer Conference being held at the Navy Pier in Chicago next weekend. A few of our friends and clients are speaking on panels at the event and our wonderful Editors from Wiley will be there doing some fun promotions, so I jumped at the chance to get up there to meet them in person. (“Wait, Kathy? You’re going somewhere other than your desk or the playground? Surely you jest!“... Nope. I am, and I’ll be there without a child on my hip. It’s a tiny miracle.)
I am really anxious to get there and mingle with bloggers I have been reading for ages, not to mention see some of the great panels they have lined up this year. I am hoping to catch a bunch including Self-branding and Self-promotion, Technical Tools To Build Traffic, The State of the Momosphere, Professional Blogging: Art and Commerce, and of course Book to Blog and Back Again which is sponsored by none other than Wiley! I also want to jump in on The Art of Crafts, because hello? Amy Sedaris! Joelle gave me her book last Christmas and I just adore it.
I’d be lying if I wasn’t also looking forward to getting dressed like an adult and going to an actual cocktail party and not have to drag a diaper bag! If you’ll be attending this years conference, make sure to say hello if you see me prancing around!
