Moxie Design Studios

Auld Lang Syne, etc.

I never really understood what that song means.  Anyway, Happy New Year!  Our holidays were smashing, though very mellow, which is exactly what I needed.  Good times, good friends and partridge in a pear tree. Fa la.

On with 2006! Kathy has given birth to a beautiful (seriously, like perfect) baby boy, which was a surprise considering we’ve been squealing and pink-ifying ourselves into a frenzy in anticipation of a little girl.  But boy... and he certainly is a cute one.  She won’t be around for the next 4-ish months, as she’ll be in New Mom Training™ (a.k.a. maternity leave), so I’ll be holding down the fort here at Moxie.

Speaking of which, my schedule is currently full through

February

mid-March. If you are interested in being booked for late March, please contact me as soon as possible and we’ll get the ball rolling.

After finally taking a couple of much-needed weeks off over the holidays, I’m sure you can imagine my inbox overfloweth… I bet yours does, too!  smile  I appreciate your patience while I sort through these emails; I will do my very best to respond as soon as possible.

I appreciate your business and your interest very much. Thank you!  Cheers to 2006!

Merry Christmas from Moxie!

We’d like to take a moment to thank our clients who have helped make 2005 the most successful and exciting year yet.  This year brought so many changes and a few growing pains, but all of that is part of building something worthwhile.  Kathy and I are both feel very fortunate to work together and to have this opportunity in our lives.  We wouldn’t trade it for anything and we have our clients to thank!

In addition to our fruitful business, Kathy and her husband are being given the joy of a little

girl

uh… boy!... to be born any day now.  I’m so excited to be an auntie, I can’t stand it. Seriously.  I’m on “pink overload”. (oops!)  But pretty soon, I think we’re going to have a new Moxie Tots mascot…

We appreciate you trusting us with your internet presence and look forward to creating more beautiful sites and projects for you in 2006.

From the Moxie Girls to you and yours… Happy Holidays. smile

Now, go spike the egg nog!

Expression Engine 1.4 Released!

We’ve been waiting anxiously for our favorite content management system, Expression Engine to release version 1.4.  Finally, it’s here!  I can’t wait to upgrade all of my sites to see what kind of goodies have been added.  You can read a complete list of the newly added features here.

From their announcement:

Version 1.4 is one of our biggest releases to date, delivering over 70 new features and enhancements, making ExpressionEngine one of the most compelling, feature-rich publishing systems in the world.

In addition, we are pleased to announce the release of our free ExpressionEngine Core Version.  The Core is available for personal use only and comes with 9 add-on modules, making it a killer blogging system.

We have also reduced the personal license price to $99.95 (it was previously $149.95).

Not only is there a more streamlined personal version, for those who don’t need every bell and whistle for a reduced personal license price?  Hot diggety!  Maybe Santa will put an EE license in your stocking this year…

The team over at pMachine have really outdone themselves this time. It’s truly is like Christmas every time they release a new version of this CMS. Only this time, it really isChristmas!  Thanks, pMachine!

Today Air America, Tomorrow… the World!

Holy cow! Our client David Harris was on Air America recently, specifically the Majority Report. David gave us a HUGE shoutout at the end, singing our praises on Air America… we have arrived!  You can download the broadcast here (we’re mentioned near the end).  We’ve received some great feedback about that site design and even referrals from those who heard about us through his Air America segment. Thanks for the press, David!  Follow David Harris to D.C.!  Go on!

In other cool news, imageCat of Designers Who Blog contacted us to let us know that we’d been featured on her site! Designers-Who-Blog features “the cream” of designers who blog and her site was just featured on HOW Magazine’s “Top 10” sites to see.  In addition to being featured, we were also asked to participate in her “random advert banners”. Her site features photos of designers who blog along with the designer’s logo in a rotating banner.  Refresh enough times, you’ll probably see our mugs!  Thanks for the love, Cat!
