It’s really fall now and even in San Diego I am feeling the change in season. It’s been colder and cloudy here, compared to our usual 75 degrees, so I’ve puchased stock in Duraflame and have been enjoying pseudo-roaring fires for the last few nights.
I’m thrilled to see Kathy back online. I missed her! It’s just not the same working with her, I tell you that. Hopefully, they’ll get her internet back up and running soon.
Speaking of running, I’ve been doing that like a chicken with her head cut off myself. A few projects ran longer than anticipated, which pushed my whole schedule back a wee bit, but I’m making fabulous progress playing catch-up. It seems like many of the sites I’ve been working on lately have been humongous, which while time-consuming, is really great because it allows me to stretch my skills and explore new ways to push the limits of Expression Engine and other content management systems.
Among some of the interesting sites I’ve launched lately is Active Women, a site for the female adventure traveler and which features the art ofillustrator, Derek Yaniger. Last week we launched Elm Creek, the online home of best-selling author Jennifer Chiaverini and this morning, we unveiled Follow Me to D.C., the online presence of David Harris, Congressional candidate for District 6 in Texas. This site features a blog, photo gallery and events calendar, as well as a Virtual Campaign Office. The feedback has been great so far, says the client, which is something we always love to hear.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during this challenging time and we thank you for your business! I hope you and yours have a wonderful, family and friend-filled Thanksgiving holiday.
Kathy here… Just wanted to let everyone know I am back online and working again and the recovery from Hurricane Wilma, while long and really stressful, is now getting better day by day. We have our power back and while I still have somewhat limited Internet access, I am working diligently to get back up to speed with my schedule. I appreciate all the well wishes everyone has sent my way and I know my clients have been more than patient and understanding during this whole ordeal, so thank you again to everyone for being wonderfully supportive.
Please feel free to email me with questions regarding my schedule or your project and I promise to get your project back on schedule as soon as I can. Also, for those of you you emailed to ask, me and baby are doing fine despite all the chaos! Thank you for all your genuine concerns!
Greetings from natural disaster land! I just wanted to say thank you to all my clients for being so understanding while I go through this difficult time recovering from Hurricane Wilma down here in Florida. I am back at work and operating at about 75% since I still don’t have my cable Internet back yet. Adelphia tells me they are “working on it” and it will be up when it’s up. No time line for service restoration. Apparently they suffered some major damage and are working on getting everyone back up asap. The billing department seems to have been spared conveniently as my monthly bill arrived right on time.
So unfortunately, I am now behind schedule about 2 weeks due to not having power and Internet for that time. I appreciate everyone’s patience while I work on getting things back on schedule. If you need to speak to me regarding your project, please drop me an email. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Kathy emailed me from a coffee shop this morning, letting me know that authorities are now saying they’re ahead of schedule and they might have power by the 13th. *blank stare* Just in time for Thanksgiving! *sigh* However, the rest of her block has power. It appears her line was ripped from the pole by the wind. Naturally.
So, aside from the fact that she’s going stir crazy and couldn’t possibly stomach another episode of TLC’s “A Baby Story” (courtesy of her aunt’s condo in Coco Beach), she and the bambina are doing just fine. She asked that I keep everyone abreast of the situation and let you know that she’s doing what she can to stay in contact. There may be a laptop in the works. I’ll keep you posted!
Thank you very much for your patience and please don’t hesitate to contact me (Joelle), if I can be of assistance in Kathy’s absence. Thanks!
Due to Hurricane Wilma, Kathy will be unavailable for a while. Unfortunately, we don’t know how long, but the authorities are saying potentially two weeks until her power comes back on. South Florida has a 98% power outage and Kathy says they are also asking that residents of Palm Beach boil their water before drinking it.
Kathy’s home, family and furbabies are fine, but this is a terrible disaster and recovery takes time. We understand that you may be waiting on some projects from from her and she will do her best to get to them as soon as she is able. If you have an emergency, please email me and I will do my best to help you as soon as I can. Otherwise, please just hang tight until further notice.
Thank you very much for your patience. We apologize for any inconvenience.
